This bit of SC news probably did not make it to the national airwaves in a big way, so you might not have heard it. ...Though it should have made the news in a big way for oh-so-many reasons.
Right after the incident, one of the morons who runs this state, a dude from the legislature called Rusty DePass: Grand Old Party member from
Can you fucking believe this?!!! ...Sad thing is that, yeah one can... The republicans in this state might actually be the proof they’ve been searching for all along to disprove
The guy apologized to the NAACP--- fuck, I would say, “fuck you, apology not accepted”--- dude should resign! This is fucking unacceptable! ...but there you go, the Facebook thing: a tool in the hands of another moron laying bare his stupid soul.... ...and more action with no consequences... asshole will probably get re-elected even though the damned county is only 50% white, and they can’t possibly be all bigot believers in -hah- intelligent design (an oxymoron if ever I've seen one), can they?...
...His Facebook page has been deleted à big whoopee. Ugh.
Oh godddd baaaaaaaaarrrfffffffffff
ReplyDeleteWhen I first read this email I had just come home from a meeting with my professor, a whitney curator, and a veteran collector who owns the archive of an international indie art and writing mag from the 20s, (facsimile here:http://books.google.com/books?id=sEwHAQAAIAAJ&printsec=frontcover&dq=broom&ei=2aI6SsCpCZS4NrCo8bgF&client=safari) with original work by leger and picasso william carlos williams and e.e. cummings t.s.eliot etc that the u.s. quickly banned for being too explicit... he wants to exhibit the material at bard, my prof wants me to work on it, i was in this enormous apartment on 5th ave overlooking the Met, with every inch of wall occupied by recognizable james rosenquists, warhols, mapplethorpe photographs, trying not to feel as out of my depth as I absolutely am, and then the 70 year old collector held my hand on the way out, gave me his number, looked me in the eye and said 'maybe we can have some fun with this.'
Reading this e-mail was the biggest explosion of a reality check. The lives and concerns of those 3 men are not anywhere near the awful shit that happens in real life.
nah nah nah honey, what you spent the day doing and those 3 guys' concerns is real life too! Real life is full of good and full of bad. As The Raving Artist I like to rave about the bad; watchu spent the day doing is WAY COOL, it makes life worthwhile! This shit down here, fuck, we keep fighting it best we can...
