I used to make my dad play "Changes" on repeat in the car whenever we went anywhere. Did you ever see that craaazy jim henson movie he starred in back in the 80's? It was called Labrynth.
I did indeed (-; Probably have seen every movie he's been on- ever see "Happy Birthday Mr. Lawrence"? ... and I love the love-making scene in "The Man Who Fell to Earth" when he takes all his "hard parts" (nails, eye lashes, eyebrows, false blue irises- he had yellow eyes in that movie- etc)to become just this smooth being in order to make love to his wife that is on another planet-> not sure how that worked out; but that's the kind of sex I want to have one day when I become an alien... And then I saw him live in Atlanta once when he was doing a tour with Adrian Belew- and it was a "best of" show just to make money; and it was the beginning of the tour; and they weren't giving a crap; and Belew was just having fun playing solos that had nothing to do with the music they were playing; and it was really weird and kinda funky 'cause it was all wrong; but Belew is such a fucking great guitarist that it did not matter; and the crowd did not seem to care because they just wanted to hear the old songs; and Curtis and I just kept laughing because it was so fucked up and we knew it and we knew Belew knew it (-;
"Raving Artist" might be a misleading title. Yes I usually rave, and yes, I am more of an artist than not, depending on the definition of the word. But most of the stuff I write here is not about art. In the end, this is just one more blog about nothing in particular by nobody in particular. I write because I like to do it; or more specifically, because "vira e mexe" ("every now and then", but more like "every now") something tweaks me and compels me to do it. I find that this is as good a place as any in which to dump my thoughts; and moreover, I am always pleasantly surprised when someone actually reads it. ...That being said, I do feel guilty about the ridiculously enormous amounts of energy it takes to run the servers that power our contemporary living.... oh well, outasite outamind...
