Both parties are equal, equally despicable that is. But as in Animal Farm, one party is more "equal" than the other, and that happens to be the Republican party. The Democratic party is the party of big spending and makes no bones about it. But in the guise of fiscal conservatism, the Republicans get those of us who want to see fiscal responsibility coming from Washington all riled up, but don't really get entangled with any of the hairy issues of entitlements that need to be dealt with in order to curb future spending. Instead they invariably take the low road by making a sharp right hand turn in order to bonk us on the head with the tiresome knee-jerk socially conservative agenda of their members from the religious right; those same assholes that Reagan brought into the party in order to be elected and re-elected. Unfortunately it seems that these same members now make up the majority of the Grand Ol' Party; the level-headed and rational fiscal conservatives having left to be more effective elsewhere, while leaving the insane asylum to be run by the insane. Fuck, why don't they just join the Taliban and be done with it; they certainly have a lot in common when it comes to their attitude towards women. Ugh! A pox on all their houses....
